1. Africa - working with the Rockefeller Foundation to support climate change adaptation
The Walker Institute and the Statistical Services Centre are supporting eight Rockefeller Climate Change Units in East and Central Africa. The aim of the work is to help develop climate change adaptation strategies for agriculture based on scientific evidence. More>>
2. Africa Climate Exchange - linking climate scientists with stakeholders
Dr Ros Cornforth (Department of Meteorology) is leading a NERC funded knowledge exchange initiative to develop better links between climate scientists, local communities in Africa, governments, NGOs and the private sector to increase climate resilience in Africa. The initiative aims to:
. Improve understanding of policy-makers' issues by climate scientists
. Improve understanding of climate information by policymakers
. Build a sustainable framework for continuing dialogue between policymakers, NGO decision-makers and climate scientists

3. Africa Climate Change Fellowship Programme - Walker Institute to host 2 researchers
The Walker Institute is the only institution outside of Africa to host researchers under the Africa Climate Change Fellowship Programme. We will be Hosting 2 Research Fellows working in the following areas:
. Urban adaptation to climate change
. Climate change and crop production.
