Walker Institute science presented at the House of Commons

Research from the Walker Institute was presented to MPs at the SET for Britain event in the House of Commons on 19th March. The event showcases work from the country's top young researchers.

Chris Yesson's work highlights the risks to the popular garden flower Cyclamen, which grows naturally in the Mediditerranean. Climate change could make the region unsuitable for almost all Cyclamen species within 50 years. This pattern of change and loss could be typical for European plant species. View the poster.

Dr Paul Williams presented research on how changes in rainfall brought about by increasing greenhouse gases can affect ocean currents and heat uptake - and how this feeds back on climate itself.  View the poster.
