The climate of the next 30 years
Predicting how climate will evolve over the next few decades is a rapidly developing area of climate research.
When trying to predict climate over the next 30 years it is necessary to take account of both natural variations in climate and the effect that people are having on climate.
The Walker Institute has groups looking at natural variations in climate, such as the El Nino warming in the tropical Pacific and variability in European climate.
Our research is helping us understand how these natural variations will affect and be affected by man-made climate change. This knowledge is essential for improving prediction of climate for the coming decades.
