Working with us

Climate change is an enormous challenge for science and society.

The latest IPCC report shifts the debate firmly from doubt to certainty about climate change, and hence the need for action.

We are working with business, governments and research organisations across the world to better understand the risks and opportunities from climate over the coming decades.

Would your business competitiveness or profitability be affected if, for example, flooding or storms were to worsen?

Are there opportunities that you could capitalise on?

The insurance and financial sectors are already taking seriously the impacts of climate change on losses and investment returns.

Our links with the insurance industry

The Walker Institute is working with Willis Re through the Willis Research Network – the largest existing collaboration between the insurance industry and academia.

Our links with Deloitte

The Walker Institute is working with Deloitte, the business advisory firm, on the risks of climate change to business.

Our scientsts collaborate with many research organisations worldwide. A selection of Walker Institute research partnerships are highlighted below.

Queensland Government

We are working with the Queensland Government to better understand the risks to agriculture, water resources and businesses from a changing climate.

Forecasting the Indian monsoon

We are working with Indian scientists to improve forecasts of the Indian monsoon and to assess how it will be affected by climate change.
